  • Anita Phillips

    Anita is an accredited coach and consultant with over 20 years’ corporate experience across London, Paris and Hong Kong. In her prior role as a solicitor and consultant at a leading international law firm, Anita specialised in dispute resolution and diversity and inclusion. Building on this, she now works with clients across sectors and geographies including legal, technology and communications in both Europe and Asia.

    Anita assist clients with career transitions, stretch projects, prioritisation and confidence, helping them to achieve their goals in a fulfilling and sustainable way. Her own experience having made several life transitions - including moving across geographies and between roles - helps to inform her approach.

    Anita’s coaching style is goal-driven and solutions-focussed, using positive strategies to overcome barriers to success and fulfilment. She sees herself as a ‘change agent’ coach, helping clients see their behaviour and motivations in a fresh light to maximise their potential. As such she uses challenge and creative techniques to help clients develop a growth mindset in which nothing is off the table.

    Anita has a particular interest in advancing the role of women, and co-chaired Women in Law Hong Kong (WiLHK), Asia’s largest female lawyer network for four years. She has spoken at a large number of events and conferences and has been published on a variety of legal, commercial and diversity & inclusion topics.

    Anita speaks both English and French. In her spare time, she is a keen trail runner, rock climber and skier. She is currently training for the UTMB, a 173km trail race through the mountains of the Mont Blanc range.

  • David Phillips

    David spent a decade in private legal practice in London, working with corporate clients across the media, technology, telecommunications and energy sectors, before moving into learning and development in a leading international law firm. In 2013 he moved to Hong Kong to head the firm’s Asia-wide L&D function and ultimately became the regional HR director. Throughout, David worked with lawyers and senior managers to address the skills and development challenges inherent in a highly competitive business environment.

    Initially as a member of an internal coaching faculty, and subsequently as an independent coach and consultant, David has over a decade’s experience in coaching lawyers and non-legal professionals at all levels of seniority and across practice groups. He has particular experience in coaching around career transition and leadership development for senior lawyers who aspired to make, or have recently made, the transition to partnership. He has also worked closely with both established senior leaders and those new to leadership positions, helping them to become more effective and successful in their roles. 

    David has coached both on a one-to-one basis and in a team setting, and is comfortable working remotely or in person, across multiple jurisdictions, cultures and demographics. He has extensive experience in the design and delivery of training and development programmes across a variety of subject matters.

    David holds a practitioner diploma in executive coaching and is certified by the Academy of Executive Coaching. He subscribes to the ICF code of ethics for executive coaches. He is a keen rock climber, skier and cyclist.
